Dubai looks to improve wellbeing of public sector workers
Government project aimed at advancing human capital via new framework.
"Investing in people is the foundation for building a government that is more agile, resilient, and future-ready."
Those were the words of Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) Director General Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi when DGHR launched three initiatives under the Dubai Government Employee Experience Enhancement Project.
Based on a comprehensive DGHR study involving government employees and specialists, the plan is to enhance flexible work systems, strengthen financial literacy amongst workers, and develop the Dubai Government Employee Wellbeing Index with the help of the Dubai Health Authority.
The Director General said: "The Dubai Government Employee Experience Enhancement Project represents a strategic step in advancing government human capital. It is driven by our firm belief that investing in people is the foundation for building a government that is more agile, resilient, and future-ready...
"Ultimately, the project is designed to deliver an integrated employee experience that supports individuals throughout every stage of their professional journey."
According to the department, it came up with a unified framework designed to improve the employee experience within the government of Dubai.
"It integrates organisational culture, leadership, human resources, systems, and technology, covering every stage of the employee lifecycle," DGHR noted. "The framework also strengthens talent attraction and retention whilst fostering greater engagement across the government sector."
Over 1,500 employees from more than 40 government entities were surveyed as part of the project. Various government entities were also interviewed, and government sector specialists participated in collaborative workshops.
