Philippine Department of Information and Communications Technology bags two accolades at GovMedia Conference & Awards 2025

It clinched the Philippines Digital Transformation of the Year - Info-Comms and the Philippines E-Governance Project of the Year - Info-Comms awards.

The Philippine Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) was honoured with two major wins at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2025 for its eGovernment Data Exchange Platform (eGovDX) system and eGovPH Super App. The former enhances government efficiency, cybersecurity, and service delivery, whilst the latter integrates national and local government services into a user-friendly interface.

eGovDX

For eGovDX, a flagship initiative of DICT designed to accelerate the Philippines' digital transformation, the Department was awarded Philippines Digital Transformation of the Year - Info-Comms category. The platform serves as a secure, interoperable data-sharing ecosystem that integrates national government agencies (NGA), local government units (LGU), and other public institutions. Thus far, 75 NGA systems and 927 LGU systems have been assisted and integrated into the platform, with 440 million transactions recorded as of January 2025.

It enables secure sharing of data across government agencies without direct data transfer, ensuring both efficiency and data privacy. With the Digital National ID, eGovDX allows for faster, more authenticated access to public services.

Moving forward, eGovDX is set to gradually migrate all legacy systems into new, advanced, optimised, and secured information systems across multiple government agencies. At the same time, each government agency will retain full control over its own databases and systems, with eGovDX serving as an integration tool, ensuring encrypted and blockchain-enabled connectivity.

Future plans for the platform include expanding the application programming interface ecosystem to include more agencies and digital services. The DICT aims to increase interoperability and service accessibility and at the same time enhance cybersecurity measures such as artificial intelligence (AI)-driven threat detection and blockchain-enabled data security to adapt to evolving threats and global security standards.

“The eGovDX promotes a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric public service ecosystem. Through its innovative approach, the platform reshapes governance, enabling a future where government transactions are seamless, secure, and fully integrated into the digital economy,” the DICT said.

eGovPH Super App

Meanwhile, the Department’s eGovPH Super App won the Philippines E-Governance Project of the Year - Info-Comms category. The app brings government services closer to every Filipino through a single, unified mobile platform. The free application streamlines access to both national and local services through a user-friendly interface.

Amongst its core features is the ability to store and access digital versions of important government-issued IDs, including the Digital National ID, Senior Citizen ID, PRC ID, PhilHealth ID, Driver’s License ID, and the OFW eCard. This eliminates the need for carrying physical documents and supports faster and more secure identity verification in government transactions.

It has also fostered collaborations with fintech companies to promote broader financial inclusion, providing citizens with easier access to digital payment systems, financial assistance programs, and banking services.

“By leveraging advanced technology and strategic collaborations, the project aims to drive digital transformation whilst ensuring inclusivity and security. Through ongoing improvements, policy alignment, and continuous service upgrades, the eGovPH Super App is paving the way for a seamless and innovative public service experience that meets the evolving needs of Filipinos,” the DICT remarked.

The eGovPH Super App continuously strengthens its defences against cyber threats through AI-driven monitoring and blockchain technology, ensuring that citizen data remains protected and government transactions secure.

Since its launch, the app has achieved significant milestones, with 11 million users, 47 eGov Services, 75 NGAs, and 927 LGUs integrated into the platform. With continuous service expansion through the added integration of major government services, its usability and reach continue to grow.

GovMedia Conference & Awards 2025 celebrates the achievements of government projects and initiatives from both government organisations and private sector companies that are not only transforming Asia Pacific but are also making a significant impact across the globe.
