Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs clinches GovMedia Conference & Awards 2024
Its awareness campaign is expected to decrease enquiries in the agency’s call centre and social media.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs of Dubai (GDRFAD) took home the win in the United Arab Emirates Campaign of the Year - Local Government category at the esteemed GovMedia Conference & Awards 2024 for its awareness campaign “For You, We Are Here” that brings to light its services.
The campaign aims to expand the public knowledge of the entity and inform them about its services, which should help decrease the enquiries in its call centre and social media. It also encourages people to use its smart application where all the updated GDRFAD services are provided.
Amongst the key features of the campaign include a detailed presentation of airport services such as Children's Passport Counters, entry permits for residents and their Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) companions, extension of entry for GCC residents and companions, smart gates, smart corridors, and various visa options, including visa on arrival, 48-hour and 96-hour visas.
In an effort to encourage participation and enhance interaction, the campaign is also hosting a questionnaire with opportunities to win exclusive prizes. This is part of a broader strategy by GDRFAD, which has already launched similar successful campaigns in different regions of Dubai.
The entity has also encouraged people to give them feedback through a barcode sticker and Ipad. For them, gathering customer feedback is essential for understanding customer needs, driving continuous improvement, enhancing satisfaction and loyalty, resolving issues, fostering innovation, managing brand reputation, and engaging customers in meaningful ways.
One of their most successful campaigns was launched at the Global Village in January 2024. Visitors to the area were introduced to a host of GDRFAD services, including entry and residence permits, as well as airport services.

This pursuit solidifies the UAE and Dubai's global standing in delivering exceptional services, enriching lives, and exemplifying best practices worldwide,” the company said.
