Thailand Post Co., Ltd. wins Smart Government award at GovMedia Conference & Awards 2026
The company built a national digital address that links identities, civic mail, and government service in one platform.
Thailand Post Co., Ltd. won the Thailand E-Governance Project of the Year - Smart Government category at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2026 for its Thailand Post e-Governance Digital Address Infrastructure. The project addresses the limitations of analogue address records in public service delivery, particularly for identity verification, official communication, welfare access, and government document routing.
The company has built the infrastructure around three key components, including Digital Post ID, PromptPost, and the Thailand Post Super App. Digital Post ID links a verified digital identity to a person and physical location. PromptPost serves as a legally recognised digital postbox for bills, tax notices, and government documents, featuring GPS confirmation, identity verification, and audit records. The Thailand Post Super App integrates these services with shipping, payments, and government touchpoints.
Through this initiative, citizens could receive official notices, welfare-related documents, healthcare records, and other public communications through a verified digital channel. The system successfully reduces address falsification by tying delivery records to identity and location data rather than manual entries.
The postal network also supports digital inclusion; post workers help connect households with limited banking or online access to these digital services, bridging the gap between physical delivery and digital public functions. Furthermore, the verified database supports public sector responses during floods, health emergencies, and evacuation by providing accurate location records for assistance delivery to those households affected by force majeure events.
For commerce, the project enables Thai SME sellers to connect their Digital Post IDs with regional logistics systems. This initiative facilitates cross-border transactions and reduces reliance on handwritten address details. By leveraging its authority to verify identities, Thailand Post has expanded its role into essential digital public infrastructure whilst streamlining access to various government services. The winning project showcases the integration of address data, official mail and government services into a unified national e-government platform.
