Vietnam to digitalise national database

The approved National Data Strategy aims to handle all of the country’s administrative procedures online by 2030.

Vietnam’s National Data Strategy project which aims to digitalise all of the country’s administrative procedures by 2030 has been approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.

It includes a plan to establish a high-performing national data services market.

The data market strategy involves interconnecting all national data centres, regional data centres, and national centres for large data storage and high-performance computing across Vietnam.

Vietnam also aims to digitalise all national databases, serving as a foundation for the development of e-government and connecting with other databases nationwide.

The strategy calls for the development of models to develop markets for data brokerage and data services, the report said.

The overall objective is to leverage data to transform Vietnam into a digital nation by opening up new operations and development space for the digital government, the digital economy, and the digital society.

Vietnam is also banking on data to boost national competitiveness and restructure the economy to be driven by a stronger middle class in terms of income by 2030.
