Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia scores win at GovMedia Awards 2025 for mobile app

The app makes it easier for individuals to interact with the agency and access its services.

Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) received the Malaysia Digital Transformation of the Year - Transportation category at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2025 for its mobile application MyJPJ that allows users to access and manage their driving licence and road tax information, check for summons, and perform other related transactions digitally.

The MyJPJ app makes it easier for individuals to interact with JPJ and access its services, reducing the need for in-person visits to JPJ branches. It also eliminates the need for physical copies of road tax and driver’s licence.

At the same time, it streamlines operations and reduces the workload of JPJ staff, allows the department to reach a wider audience, and reduces manual processes and paper-based transactions, ultimately saving the agency RM96m per year.

The app’s other key features allow users to check and pay traffic summons issued by JPJ, the status of their vehicle registration, driving licence validity, and other related information. Users can also report traffic offences through the app.

“With the MyJPJ app, renewing your road tax and driver’s licence is now as simple as a few taps on your phone screen. The app makes it easy to keep your driving documents up-to-date and accessible without the need for any paper,” the agency said.

As of writing, the app has hit 12 million users.
