Singapore and Japan team up to ease cross-border data transfers
The two will also strengthen data breach investigations.
Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC Japan) have partnered to strengthen collaboration on cross-border data transfers.
Signing a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC), the two also agreed to strengthen data breach investigations, and facilitate information sharing on artificial intelligence and privacy-enhancing technologies.
The MOC builds on the memoranda of understanding signed earlier this year with Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission and Hong Kong's Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.
