Australia funds $23m study into long COVID persisting beyond 12 weeks
The research will include investigating the biological pathways and causes of PASC subtypes.
Australia will be providing up to $23m for medical research on post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC)—or long COVID.
According to a press release, PASC happens when COVID-19 symptoms persist after 12 weeks.
Innovation projects will include investigating the biological pathways and causes of PASC subtypes, carrying out early-phase clinical research, and comparing the underlying causes of PASC with illnesses that happen after a viral infection.
