AIIMS Delhi amongst first Indian government hospitals with surgical robots
The system offers a magnified 3D view for precision in complex surgeries.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has installed a state-of-the-art surgical robot in its General Surgery Department.
The move makes AIIMS Delhi one of the first government hospitals in India to adopt advanced robotic-assisted surgery, said GlobalData.
The system provides surgeons with a magnified 3D view of the surgical area and robotic arms for precise procedures in complex anatomical spaces.
India’s robotic surgical systems market is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of around 10% through 2036 amidst increasing adoption.
“Governmental support can be instrumental in overcoming barriers such as high cost and lack of enough specialised training,” said Divya Soni, Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData.
