IMDA, Tencent launch campaign to promote healthy digital play
The campaign aims to help youths, parents, and families build safer digital habits through balanced gameplay.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority and Tencent have launched “Beyond the Screen: Healthy Digital Play,” a digital wellbeing campaign aimed at encouraging healthy digital habits among youths, parents, and families.
The campaign seeks to use gaming as a way to strengthen family connections, build balanced routines, and encourage conversations at home.
As part of the launch, IMDA and Tencent signed an agreement to deepen collaboration on digital wellbeing initiatives under Singapore’s Digital for Life movement. The partnership will focus on promoting online safety and healthy digital habits.
Tencent will co-develop educational content with IMDA and organise four community outreach activities, which are expected to reach about 4,000 participants.
The company will also contribute $25,000 to the Digital for Life Fund. With the Government’s dollar-to-dollar matching, the total contribution will reach $50,000.
The Singapore launch was officiated by Jasmin Lau, Minister of State for Digital Development and Information, and attended by social service organisations from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
