The Revenue Department of Thailand recognised at GovMedia Conference & Awards 2026
The Revenue Department built D-MyTax to consolidate online tax services, reduce filing steps, and support secure access.
The Revenue Department of Thailand won Thailand Public Sector Initiative of the Year - Smart Government at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2026 for D-MyTax, its digital tax service on the One Portal platform. Built for individual and corporate taxpayers, including VAT-registered individuals and VAT-registered corporations, the system placed key online tax services within one access point.
Development began with an in-depth analysis of taxpayers’ pain points through interviews and consultations involving taxpayer groups and relevant stakeholders. That review pointed to several issues: identity checks were cumbersome, services sat across separate systems, some users misunderstood tax requirements, difficulties in accessing and using online services, the loss of supporting documents or failure to submit them to the Revenue Department, and gaps in taxpayers' understanding of tax regulations and procedures. Agile working practices and design thinking were then used to shape the interface around actual taxpayer tasks, rather than internal departmental processes.
A single verification and authentication process sits at the centre of the platform. Taxpayers can sign in through digital ID using ThaID, Paotang, and banking applications connected to the National Digital ID (NDID) system and access all digital tax services through a single access point (One Portal). Services are also arranged by taxpayer type, so individuals, VAT-registered individuals, corporations, and VAT-registered corporations can reach the functions relevant to them without moving between separate portals.
D-MyTax draws income and deduction data from government and private sector agencies. Taxpayers can check their personal tax information through the system and use pre-filled data when preparing personal income tax returns. Fast Filing shortened the online filing process, whilst the option to upload additional documents reduced the need for physical submissions.
For business taxpayers, the system covered digital tax compliance, lowered administrative work, and reduced the risk of data errors. Inside the Revenue Department, linked information from public and private sector agencies gave tax officers a broader database for tax analysis, policy work, tax measures, and taxpayer benefit administration.
Further development is planned through wider data integration and self-assessment functions, which would allow taxpayers to check and confirm information through D-MyTax. The Revenue Department also intends to apply artificial intelligence through the Aree Chatbot, designed as a personalised digital assistant for taxpayer enquiries and related services.
