Thailand to help SMEs, farmers adopt digital technology
Government initiative supports national transformation strategy.
As part of Thailand's national artificial intelligence (AI) transformation policy, the government is helping nearly 16,000 businesses become more competitive by leveraging digital technology.
To advance technological adoption, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) in Thailand will fund significant upgrades at 600 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) whilst incentivising 15,000 SMEs and farmers who will switch to digital for the first time.
Technologies being looked at include those involving business management, sales promotion, and agriculture.
Phuket Chief District Officer Pairoj Srilamul was quoted by The Nation as saying: "Digital technology is highly relevant and essential for developing the province to keep pace with the changing times."
Srilamul presided over depa's recent AI Transformation Roadshow, which will feature eight provinces across Thailand.
